The Vigata cinema in Vic (Barcelona) was filled with over 500 people last Saturday night in a solidarity concert in which Fundició Dúctil Benito collaborated in a very active way. The fundraising is assigned to the ONG Sonrisas de Bombay (Bombay Smiles), which works in INdia and his its headquarters in Barcelona. With the concert and the contributions that several companies made, over 20,000 euro were raised.
The concert had two parts; in the first part there was the performance of the choir Cor Xera of Barcelona, which in the second part shared the stage with the Orquesta de Cambra of Vic, with Jordi-Lluís Rigol conducting it and performed together 'Gloria' by Vivaldi.
The organizer of the event was Berta Baulenas, from Tona, who has very strong bonds with this ONG. The entrance tickets were numbered and cost 15 euro.
Sonrisas de Bombay, founded and run by Jaume Sanllorente, is devoted to getting children out of the streets and prostitution networks, taking them in and giving them a decent future and also helping leprous families. In total, they help about 6.000 children in Bombay.
