Fundició Dúctil Benito has supplied 80 NeoBarcino benches and seats and 45 Argo litter bins to Zamora City Hall (Spain), after winning the contract in a public tender. One of the basic requirements for this designation was that the manufacturer should hold the FSC certificate (Forest Stewardship Council), which guarantees that the timber used comes from controlled felling.
The demand for street furniture with a FSC certificate is becoming increasingly widespread among public authorities in Spain. By obtaining it, Benito has shown itself to be one of the pioneer businesses in the sector.
Other criteria applied by Zamora City Hall were that the design of the units should adapt to the city landscape and, as far as litter bins are concerned, that a solution be found to the vandalism problems often suffered by this type of element. Benito’s Argo bin was selected for its satisfactory performance in various resistance tests.
