
Antalya is one of the booming and tourist cities of Turkey. In the winter season the town accommodate a million and a half inhabitants. In the summer this figure doubles. Recently the historical part of the city was remodelled in order to improve the aesthetics and in the same time the functionality of the downtown. The responsible for the urban project have selected Benito’s street furniture to enhance the beauty of the town’s Mediterranean landscape. This criteria allowed to install Delta XXI benches, designed by Mir Vall (2001), which principal’s characteristics are the comfort (the length of the bench is 700 mm), strength (ductile iron legs) and natural finish of the wood. The Dara flower planters of Josep Suriñach (2004), decorative and dissuasive urban elements (in one of the areas they are really slowing down the pass of the cars) provides the city with a distinctive and fashionable aesthetic. This elements were been set strategically as the passers by could enjoy the green rest areas. In that sense, Turkey is one of the richest countries of the world concerning the botanical diversity, including more than 10.000 species. For the street lighting project, following Benito’s advices, the specialists have chosen the 6m of hight Stylum-Vialia assembly. Vialia luminaire, with horizontal fixation, helps to reduce the light pollution (0,82 % of FHS). The pole is made in galvanized steel, paint in black forged oxiron, which ensures an excellent maintenance.
