Spanish architect Rafael Moneo (Tudela, Spain, 1937) has chosen Belluga litter bin  for the garden of the new building of Museo del Prado, next to the Royal Botanic Garden from Madrid (Spain).

Belluga litter bin is now one of the most successful site furniture items made by Benito. This was designed in 2000 by Moneo itself to tackle a need in market: great capacity litter bin, with a modern look, tough (cast aluminium and ductile iron) and vandal-proof (undulating body to avoid fixing posters, stickers or graffiti on it).

Rafael Moneo is a specialist of furniture design, that’s why he is in charge of this issue in many of his architectural works.

Expansion of the museum data

Museo del Prado’s new building incorporates more than 22,000 square meters of surface area (an increase of more than 50% on the existing size) for exhibition galleries. The old cloister of Los Jeronimos has also been renovated. It is the largest expansion project of the museum in its almost two hundred years of history.
