More than 450 people have seen the CorCia production

For two weekends (five performances in all), CorCia Teatre presented its latest show, Projecte Llenamú (Project Llenamú), in Benito’s Ter Building. The play, directed by Joan Roura, received excellent reviews and was well attended: it was seen by more than 450 people, including government officials, programme organisers and members of the public.

Projecte Llenamú is a coproduction of the CorCia theatre company, the Manlleu town government and the Museu Industrial del Ter (Industrial Museum of the River Ter) with support from Benito.

Synopsis. Valuable archaeological remains have been discovered in an old industrial/residential site: the Llenamú Industrial Colony. Esteve Gasòliba, the last remaining resident, is unwilling to leave no matter what the government offers him. Mr. Pere Artigas, director of the Heritage Trust, personally takes charge of negotiations with him.

The debate. This three-character play, acted on a nearly bare stage, asks one question: Which is more important? Recovering thousand-year-old stones or saving the recent history stored in a man’s memory? The answer is a source of biting comedy.

The aim. To pay tribute to those who lived and worked in those largely vanished microsocieties known as industrial colonies. The production takes an ironic look at today’s political class, hypocrisy, ambition and the lack of ethical values.

CorCia is a five-year-old company based in Osona, with eight productions to their credit.
