Wood is a fine material, highly prized in the manufacture of site furnishing, but the ongoing deterioration of forests in Spain and elsewhere has led people to use and consume replacement materials such as plastic.
Consumers should be aware that creating, processing and then recycling plastic produces more pollution than wood that was harvested through controlled felling. This means the wood comes from sources with good forest management practices that ensure the ecosystem’s social, environmental and economic sustainability.
By now, the FSC seal (from the Forest Stewardship Council) is the only mark that guarantees this good practice on a worldwide basis.
