Astrophysical Institute of the Canary Islands certifies Benito’s NeoFernandina lamp. Even with its classic contours, this lamp’s technical design focuses on respecting the environment: it has an IP 65 tightness level and 10º beam angle.
Benito’s Street Lighting line reflects the company’s commitment to reducing light pollution and optimizing the energy efficiency of its lamps. Our work in this area is certified by the Sky Quality Protection Technical Bureau of the Astrophysical Institute of the Canary Islands (IAC). This certification ensures a model’s technical compliance with the Sky Act (Spanish law 31/1988).
Luminaires, such as NeoFernandina models, help to:
· Reduce energy consumption and, indirectly, CO2 emissions.
· Reduce night-time disruption of natural habitats (of animals, plants and ecological processes).
· Preventing nuisance to neighbours.
· Reduce glare, improving vehicle and pedestrian safety.
· Prevent glare to air and sea traffic.
· Making astronomical observation possible, for both professional astronomers and amateurs.
Other Benito models are currently going through the certification process.
