The 4th Benito sculpture competition attracted more than twice as many entries as the last edition
A total of thirty pieces competed for the prize in the 4th sculpture competition organised by Fundició Dúctil Benito. This is a highly successful entry, more than twice that of the last edition. This year’s competition was aimed at artists from all the art colleges in Catalonia.
The selected pieces are from different places around Catalonia and the rest of Spain. There were ten entries from the city of Barcelona, an important fact that shows how the event has considerably broadened its area of influence.
The jury, which reserves the right to award two runner-up prizes, will choose a winning piece and select the best of the others, of which Fundició Dúctil Benito will give reproductions to clients, institutions and employees. The company will cover the production costs, while the winning artist will receive a prize of 2,000 euros.
The prize-giving is to take place on at midday on 19th May in the Ter building in Manlleu (the headquarters of Fundició Dúctil Benito).
