Galvanisation is an electrochemical treatment that can be applied to different metals to give them high rust resistance. It is applied by immersing parts in a zinc bath at 450 ºC.
The zinc coating chemically adheres to the steel base through a chemical metallurgic reaction, forming an alloy layer that is harder than steel, which prevents the structural parts from weakening due to environmental causes, such as humidity, corrosion or atmospheric pollutants.
For additional protection and a more attractive appearance, a polyester paint finish is applied, oven-polymerised at 200 ºC.
