The fourth edition of La Cita de Benito brought together more than a hundred professionals at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona to share references, trajectories and perspectives on architecture, the city and public space.
Last Wednesday , July 8, at 7 p.m., the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona hosted a new edition of La Cita de Benito, the series of conversations promoted by BENITO URBAN to reflect on architecture, urbanism and the transformation of cities from a close and transversal perspective.
In this fourth edition, the meeting featured the participation of three prominent figures in the architectural and urban field: Carme Pinós , architect and founder of Estudio Carme Pinós; Olga Felip , architect and co-founder of Arquitecturia; and Ricard Font , director of Barcelona d'Infraestructures Municipals, BIMSA.
The conversation was moderated by Núria Moliner , an architect and communicator, recognized for her work in disseminating information about architecture, the city and urban culture.
A conversation about references, city, and career
Far from the traditional conference format, La Cita de Benito proposes an open dialogue around the personal and professional references that influence the way of planning, building and understanding the city.
During the session, participants shared experiences, ideas, readings, places and perspectives that have shaped their journey, offering a more personal view of those behind key projects and decisions in the transformation of urban space.
The conversation allowed for addressing issues such as the relationship between architecture and territory, the importance of public spaces as meeting places, the identity of cities, and the role of architecture in building more habitable, inclusive, and context-sensitive environments.
A meeting point for professionals
The session brought together more than a hundred attendees linked to architecture, urban planning, public administration, design, academia and urban culture.
Following the discussion, the gathering continued on the terrace of the Fundació Joan Miró with a networking session and light refreshments, in a stunning setting overlooking Barcelona. It was a moment designed to provide an opportunity to continue sharing ideas, reflections, and conversations in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Benito's Appointment, a space to reflect on the city
With this fourth edition, La Cita de Benito consolidates its role as a space for meeting and reflection on the contemporary city.
Since its inception, the series has brought together leading professionals in the fields of architecture, landscape, urban culture and design, such as Anna Bofill, Lola Domènech, Maria Buhigas, Benedetta Tagliabue, Josep Bohigas, Enric Batlle and Maria Güell, among others.
At BENITO URBAN, we continue to promote meetings that allow us to share knowledge, open conversations and highlight the role of design, architecture and public space in building more humane cities.
At the close of the meeting, Andrea Carandell , CEO of BENITO URBAN , shared her thoughts on the company's daily operations and the importance of continuous innovation to meet the evolving needs of public spaces. This perspective aligns perfectly with the spirit of La Cita de Benito : fostering dialogue, sharing knowledge, and continuing to learn from those who shape and transform the city.
