On November 6th, 2025, La Primera de Benito took place, the inaugural event of the Benito HUB — a new space by Benito Urban in Barcelona designed to foster dialogue, creativity, and urban culture.
La Primera was a celebration dedicated to sharing and honoring first times — those moments that help us grow, rethink, and appreciate every new experience. A unique and unrepeatable gathering that marks the beginning of a new chapter: a meeting point for professionals, creators, and thinkers committed to the city and its evolution.
Four Voices, One Shared Inspiration
The event featured four prominent figures from the fields of urbanism, culture, and design:
- Marcel Barrena, award-winning film director known for works such as El 47.
- Itziar González, urban planner, activist, and former Barcelona City Councillor.
- Olga Tarrassó, architect and leading reference in landscape design and urban regeneration.
- Andrea Carandell, young entrepreneur and Director of Benito Urban, a group specialized in the creation of urban furniture.
Through their stories, the speakers shared their first experiences, challenges, and learnings — foundational moments that have shaped their professional and personal paths. Through anecdotes, emotions, and reflections, they reminded us that first times are the starting point of every creative and vital process.
“The first moment I felt part of Benito was when I experienced the team’s sense of belonging.” — Andrea Carandell
“It was the first time I discovered that above the world of influence-based politics, there existed a world of confluence.” — Itziar González
“In my work, I’m lucky that every time is the first time. Films have never existed before: my first film was my first film, then I made my first documentary, then my first feature for cinema, then my first wildlife documentary…” — Marcel Barrena
A Sensitive and Reflective Perspective
The event was hosted and curated by Núria Moliner, architect and communicator, who brought a sensitive, critical, and approachable perspective. Her moderation helped connect personal experiences with the values that inspire Benito Urban: commitment to people, the city, and purpose-driven innovation.
The Benito HUB: A New Space for Urban Dialogue
With this event, Benito Urban inaugurates the Benito HUB, a space open to the exchange of ideas, reflection, and experimentation around urbanism, design, and sustainability.
A place to think and build the cities of the future together, where every gathering becomes an opportunity to learn, share, and build community.
