Rafael Moneo is an architect and one of the most influential figures in contemporary international architecture. Trained at the Madrid School of Architecture, his professional career combines outstanding architectural, academic and theoretical work, developing internationally recognised projects distinguished by their ability to engage with historical, urban and cultural contexts through a rigorous, sensitive and timeless architecture.

Throughout his career, he has taught at leading institutions such as the Barcelona School of Architecture, the Madrid School of Architecture and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where he served as Chairman and later as Professor of Architecture. At the same time, his work as a lecturer, critic and co-founder of the magazine Arquitecturas Bis has consolidated his influence on contemporary architectural thought worldwide. His work has been widely published, exhibited and recognised with numerous international awards, establishing him as a key reference in contemporary Spanish architecture.

Among his collaborations with BENITO is the design of the Belluga litter bin, a piece conceived through formal sobriety and natural integration into urban space, reflecting his vision of functional, balanced and durable architecture.
