The City Council of Ses Salines instals efficient, low-consumption Milan LED luminaires with movement sensors in the Colònia de Sant Jordi promenade.

To date, the street lighting of the promenade was composed of mercury-vapor lamps. Both the energy and luminous efficacy were very deficient as a result of a high consumption and low level of luminous uniformity.

The renovation of the lighting consisted in replacing the existing lamps by 3.9 meter-high poles and 20W Milan S LED luminaires with movement sensors so that they only turn on when someone passes by.

The poles have been placed on the side surrounding the houses and facing the sea, thus avoiding causing a nuisance to neighbours, and creating an efficient and well-lit promenade as it is one of the most popular spots among inhabitants and tourists.
