Need / Problem: The central section of Barcelona’s seafront promenade required renovation to improve urban continuity, expand seating areas and reinforce the naturalisation of the coastline.
Solution: Integration of the SYLVESTRIS collection by Benito Design+, designed by Martí Franch, featuring furniture adapted to the marine environment.
Result: New seafront rest areas have been created as part of an urban, landscape and active mobility transformation project.

At Mar Bella, the SYLVESTRIS collection arrives on Barcelona’s seafront as part of the transformation works along the central section of the promenade, between Bac de Roda and the Fòrum Marine Platform.

The works began in July 2025, have a budget of €17.8 million and this phase is expected to be completed in spring 2027. The project aims to provide continuity along the seafront promenade based on principles of naturalisation, climate comfort and active mobility.

Designed by Martí Franch for the Benito Design+ range, the collection includes benches, chairs, curved benches, backless benches, sun loungers and daybeds designed to create new seating and relaxation areas beside the sea.

Prior to installation, the materials and design were tested under real seafront conditions to assess their performance when exposed to salt spray, humidity, sunlight and intensive use.
