The presentation of the “INTERCONNECT” project by UIC Barcelona at the Ter Building

30 March 2026

The Ter de Benito Building, in Manlleu, hosted on Friday, March 27, the final presentation of the academic project “INTERCONNECT”, developed by the students of Projects 5 and 6 of the School of Architecture of the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona).

The event brought together students, faculty, institutional representatives and local stakeholders in an open session of presentations and debate, consolidating the space as a point of connection between the academic field and the real-world context.

The session began with a welcome address from the faculty of UIC Barcelona and Mateu Homs, manager of Benito Urban. The day continued with presentations of the projects developed by the students.

The mayors of the municipalities involved were also present: Gerard Sancho, from Sant Hipòlit de Voltregà; Arnau Rovira, from Manlleu; and Toni Mas, from Roda de Ter, reinforcing the link between the academic project and the institutional reality of the territory.

48 proposals to rethink the territory of Alt Ter

During the event, a total of 48 projects focused on the Alt Ter territory were presented, with special attention to the municipalities of Sant Hipòlit de Voltregà – Les Masies de Voltregà, Manlleu and Roda de Ter – Les Masies de Roda.

The projects explored the relationship between architecture, landscape, and public space, focusing on industrial colonies and the opportunities for transforming these environments. Through different approaches, the students proposed new ways of intervening in the territory, rethinking public space and its connection to the landscape.

Benito Urban, a space for the connection between talent and territory

Benito Urban collaborated in this initiative by providing the Ter Building for the event, facilitating an ideal environment for the presentation of projects and the exchange of ideas.

These types of actions reinforce Benito's commitment to promoting architecture, urban design, and collaboration with academic institutions, contributing to creating spaces for dialogue between students, professionals, and administrations.

A space open to debate and reflection

The day was structured into different sessions throughout the day. After the initial welcome, the students presented the projects developed in the different municipalities in an open session that combined presentations and discussion with guests and institutional representatives.

After a break, the meeting continued with review sessions and closer dialogue with the students, also open to interested architects and professionals.

This format allowed for the sharing of knowledge, the exchange of ideas, and the creation of a space for reflection on the future of the territory, highlighting the role of architecture as a tool.a of transformation.

From Benito, we highly value the collaboration with UIC Barcelona and the involvement of all participants in this event.
